Rear wiper fixed. Info incase it helps
Well guys, I had a few peeps offer advice with my rear wiper motor problem. (thanks for helping me). Heres what I ultimately discovered, just incase anyone else suddenly gets a none functioning rear wiper motor.
Today I took the lid off the motor assy and noticed that the two brass arms on top of the motor assy had little hooks in the ends.......... I thought, " I wonder why theses arms have hooks in them?" Looking closer at the motor in the sunlight (we do ocassionally get sunshine over here), I noticed a little spring with a fibre washer attached by magnetism to the inside of the motor by the wire winding. Ah Ha I said! And clipped the spring across the two brass arms which hold the brushes against the post, reassembled the motor and.................. Hey Presto! It works!! Nb. Perhaps these springs are prone to popping off?

Hi Mark,
This was indeed the problem with my rear wiper - brushes not making contact with the commutator. But what is the correct position of the fiber washer? Can you post a photo? How to prevent a recurrence? Thanks, Frank ![]()
