Tire size on the rear w/o flares

I've put a European 3.0 into my 71t. I do not want to flare my fenders, and am trying to figure out how much rubber I can fit on the rear end. The 3 liter makes the car fun, but a little tail happy.

Right now, I'm running 205/60 15s all around. Is it possible to put a wider tire on the rear if I roll the fender lips a bit? I an assuming the answer is "not advised" and am making suspension modifications to compensate. Thoughts?

Jamie,

I ran 215/60VR-215s and 235/60VR-15s on stock-fendered '73 for years on 6 x 15 Fuchs ... Pirelli CN-36s!!! You may have to settle for a variation in available sizes with the limited selection of high-performance 15-inch tires, such as 215/65ZR-15, or 225/60VR-15, or 235/55VR-15 ... but there are still some available.
