Well, this is sort of obvious but, I'd check the rest of the bushings in the linkage too, before condemning the internals of the box. If all of the linkage is nice and tight and adjusted where it should be, then....

HI I think not with that list of failers, you will only loose the park lock and poss rev' gear, any way back to the 930 box onto the ramps or your jack/axle stands and drain the oil ,then drop off the selector plate to inspect the selector bolt, as 1st and 2nd has gone missing and the shaft could have turned/not operating the selector, also the roll pin in the shaft could have come out?? ![]() out off hear in the photo bellow ![]() if the linkage checks out OK then drop the selector plate and have a look. regards mike

Well, after taking the shift fork cover off and draining the new filling of Swepco after less than 100 miles driven here is what I found:
1. No parts were in the oil. 2. The selector forke is firmly attached to the selector fork rod. I had difficulties to engage 1st or second by prying with a large 3/4 extension because I did not get a good leverage laying under the car with gear oil dripping into my eyes. But at this point I suspect the spider to have snapped and that is what causes 1st and second not to work. The next step is to drop the engine/tranny and crack the tranny open. Whey, what fun.... The circle clip that holds on the idler gear inside the cover plate fell off......******* .75 part.....
The trans was semi locked in two gears...but had third gear operable....really wierd. We had three people scratching our collective heads....looking hard for something wrong....we pulled the lower gear stack apart....nothing. Put it back together, shifted fine....EVERYTHING looked pristine. We looked again at the coupler...fine, we looked at the shifter and its internals...... Then I had a brain fart...hey, look at the cover plate....the reverse idler gear fell out in his hand when he turned it over..... To answer the prevous posters question....I simply came out, started the motor and no first gear. No hard launch, no boom, nothing.....

Thanks...but the previous owner had Galen @ Werks II go thru it before it went into "storage"......so I'm just gonna replace the clip and the nuts on the end of the shafts....

Another good thing...with the engine and trans out, I can install the new gas struts for the rear deck lid easier.....
Gotta do the front ones too. If I remember correctly, the driver side bottom is a real beeeyotch......
