OEM Headlamp
I recently purchased my first Porsche, these cars are simply amazing, been waiting 20 plus years and finally have one, wanna restore it to its former glory, first question is what were the original headlamps on the US 1979 930 Turbo

I am pretty sure yours would be correct for a 1979 US delivery car. Sugar scoops as they are called sealed beam light. The US was slow to adopt lighting that the rest of the world was using.

H-4's please
Change over to the European H-4's with a relay kit, it'll will make your night driving a lot more palatable. Completely reversible if necessary......

Has anyone tried the $50 headlight conversion kit. Seems like the quickest and easiest way to go.

If you're looking for better lighting with original appearance, but without high cost, then this is the ticket, plus a headlight relay kit.

Relay kit keeps the amperage of the headlights from going through the switch and stalk, also removes the length of wiring reduces voltage drop so they are brighter!
If you have sealed beams try the Hellas above^^^ |

There is a headlight relay upgrade that changes it so only the minimal current needed to trigger the relay goes through the switches. This vastly increases the life of the switch plus the shorter current path means that there is less voltage drop across the wiring to the lights so it helps the brightness. (If you are running higher wattage bulbs the relays are kind of a requirement.)
