Won't stay running after it starts..

Now I'm at the point where I've got my car coughing like it is about to start but as soon as I let go of the ignition (from cranking to run) it stops. The fuel pump runs when the ignition is in cranking position but not in the key on position. It looks like power is cut off to the fuel pump when the key is not on the cranking position. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Engines that die 'instantly' are NOT having fuel pump or starvation problems ... the power to the ignition system is what you are losing!

I suggest looking at the electrical portion of your ignition switch assembly ... it can be changed without re-keying.

That's right, and don't dangle heavy keys from your ignition. Really.
