68 911 S Acceleration

Thanks to all of you for your answers to my recent ?'s.

I am experiencing a flat spot in acceleration at about 5000 rpms(in any gear). The fuel pump is new, the Webers are supposed(?) to be in tune. Any suggestions?

It does not take much to lose power at high RPM's

What jets do you have in the carbs?

How is the fuel filter?

Determine whether or not you have good fuel flow-

Good plugs that are the right type-

Good plug wires and connectors-

Good distributor with correct dwell and advance-

Good CDI system and coil-

Strong carbs that are not worn out-

Correct main jets that are not fowled-

anything off with the above will hinder your performance and with so little torque to begin with to get good performance everything must be perfect; I went through the same thing with my 2.2L
