If you mean legit as in a "factory" rsr, no. It looks like an "s" with the rsr options added by the dealer.

There were a few of these cars modified by this particular dealer way back when. I can't confirm from the comfort of my chair that this car was indeed one of those cars but I would expect that it probably is legit. The sales description has a little BS in it. It never ceases to amaze me that these guys can't seem to get the details right, as even a cursory read by someone not familiar with the cars would catch a mistake or two. Anyway, yes, they do tend to fetch a little more money than a stock 911 of the same age and condition, although the comparisons with the Carrera RS and RSR are meaningless. JR | ||

Follow this thread here on the Early 911S description: http://www.early911sregistry.org/forum/showthread.php?t=13867 It's an interesting and unique car.

I'd say it is a unique car and worth comparing it to a rs or rsr in some ways. I think it's kind of cool that it was done as new instead of the many clones that are built 30+ years later.

I'm curious and don't know that much about the early S cars. Could it possibly be worth 125K? Pretty car, good story, big price tag

I am pretty sure that car was in NC last year. PCA has a space at a big car show at Charlotte Speedway twice a year and that car was there near mine last fall. If that is the same car, it is very nice although i wouldnt pay that kind of money nomatter who built it. I thought the fenders looked a little funny (wrong somehow) and the seats were not real sport seats, they are from GTS Classics. The owner told me that they felt good, but sat up too high. I'll see if anyone took pics. Paul
