964 blower motor questions????
Is there a clear cut way to change the blower motor on the passenger side. As I look at it ,It seems like a pain in the A$$.
What about the repacement motors that everyone has. Anyone ever delt with these fans from the parts suppliers? I have one that I bought from a supp;ier and the part that holds the brushes in has a lot of slop. The plastic clip that holds the moter case in does not hold as it should. It After installing the fan and pushing the crap out of it to get to snap into place so it holds everything together is a real trick I sure. It also was shipped broken as in the fan being jamed into a box. It's cracked and I think I'll end up eating the fan I'll try to get them to replace it. So are all of these fans over priced for what they are. I mean a peice of plastic that jams into the other worthless plastic so hold them both in place. I can only thank god that it's not the fan on the drivers side. It seems that $400.00 or more for this worthless trash is almost out of the question. |

No on the 964 there are two fans up under the cowl . One on each side. Funny thing is the one on the drivers side seems fine but the other one is completely worn out. You can wobble the end of the shaft. These fans come with out a metal cover like the fan you have. The whole end of the shaft and brush assembly are exposed and it has the cheap plastic clips that slide in to the housing in the car and they should click or snap in to the housing. It's got to be the very cheapest way to make a part I've ever seen. But their German so you know they were thinking when they came up with this.
