What is the name of 1973 paint code 024-9-1???
Paint code is 024-9-1
looks similar to desert rose, which is a kind of pink color, but it has more red in it...... is this a stock color? or does the xx-9-x nine mean special order/paint to match, any help gratefully accepted, here is a picture of the paint code tag showing the color of the car as well. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1169341177.jpg |
024 = fraise ??
9 = painted at Porsche Factory 1 = Brand of paint (I don't know what brand this is) |

http://www.911c1.de/porsche/Technik/farben/farbcode_rosa.htm doesn't "fraise" mean "strawberry" in french? |
Thank you very much,
was this a standard color or special order as I have not come accross it before, how can I find out how many were produced in this color,???? |
Fraise - 024 was an optional color for 1972 - 75.

024 is called Raspberry in English. |
Cool color, BTW. :)

My '73.5t is Rose Red & ready for paint but my painter can't seem to get the formula? Do you still have the car or do you have a color sample? -Bill

it was/is a great color but very resistant to sales. If you use the paint code any main paint supply store, they can mix it for him JP |
So... how about a pic of the car, not just the door jamb?
|
Thanks for the reply on your almost four year old thread...
I'm surprised my painter is having problems getting/finding the formula. He's been painting my Porsches for over 20 years... Can you please post a few pics of the car? Thanks again, Bill |
Dave Bouzaglou at TRE Motorsports recently did a 911ST replica in Fraise. Talk to him. "TRE Cup" on this board.

Maybe this site will be helpful: Glasurit Color codes and samples for 1966- I am sure Glasurit will have the formula. |
Don't mean to jack the thread but here's another paint code i'm not sure of : 2010- L ,on a 1970 car . I think it might have been Gulf blue ? Anybody got any info ? Thanks
|
So my color code is 230-9-3
Can anyone tell me what that is? |
Actually I have found that it is Metallic Green - anyone have a sample of this I can look at?
|
|
There appears to be a metallic green that is 224 and then seems like one that is 230. Curious - where would you find this paint today?
Thanks techweenie! |
It's called Dunkelgrun, and I had a picture, because I found a car that color for a friend. Searching the archives.
|
We're in luck, primarily because I never seem to throw anything away. This is from a code 230 car that was painted blue/gray. This was the only accessible unpainted portion of the car. I love the color, and it looks great on these cars.
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1335219065.jpg I used to own a '72 #230 that was made into a white RS clone, and Milt had a 911S in this color. It's rare #230 was not painted over. |
I also saw it here:
Glasurit Color codes and samples for 1966- Here's my question - where can I buy this color? That is my original color. I just redid the engine and now thinking I will work on the wiring but get this car ready for now upholstery and paint for next year... Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhh - don't tell my wife. She wants to remodel our kitchen... |
Generally, the formulas for these older colors are not available. And current metallics have much larger "flakes" than were used in the day. So you'll need to work with a paint shop to mix the color.
