Turbo Chain Tensioners!
So, I know that it isn't a bad idea to modify cars without Carerra chain tensioners to have Carerra chain tensioners. Does the same thing apply to Turbos? Just wondering. Man, the things that keep me up at night.

Yes, it's best to put carrera tensioners on the old turbos.

Yes, and while we are in there let's not forget about those nasty old chain ramps too. Get em outa there too and you can sleep like a baby.

You can go with Oil feed tensioners, BUT you will actually be more safe if you just add on $35.00 safety stops, you ALREADY have TURBO tensioners that are stronger then the older versions of tensioners that the earlier year Porsches ran. Oil feed is not cheap and have been showing problems when the Porsche owners that if they bought these tensioners they would be "fail safe" but it is just not true they can fail also, the most common is popping there little plug caps off or getting the oil feed lines clogged. But on a resale value oil feed will help because of all the panic and hype on oil feed, shoot all us shops make money when you want them installed on a perfect running car almost $1000 for parts and labor, when all you had to do was pop on your self some $35.00 stops and camshaft housing gaskets. You should inspect your chain ramps while you have the cover off like someone else already said to do, that is a very good idea.
