911-style part number on the back, as well as a little fox face.

Awhile back I asked the same question and the Early 'S' Man came up with a good answer. He said that real Fuchs will have no rough texture on them anywhere. This is because they are forged, not cast like most (all?) copies.

Not too long after I recieved some answers, I had a chance to look at a set of Fuchs. Out of the four wheels, one was a fake. It wasn't obvious, but the hints I got from you guys helped me pick it out. The way I could tell was, it had some of the aforementioned roughness, there was no wheel size stamped on the back of it (like 7J16 or something) and no little fox head thingy. Oh, and the other three had a Porsche part number on them.

By the way, the fox head thing comes from the fact that "fuchs" is German for "fox".

Hmmm. Where's the fox head located? Mine have a Porsche part# (911......etc) but I didn't find the fox head.

On mine ... on the 'next' line below the part number! The fox head is also 'raised' like the part number, but a bit 'fainter' or less noticeable than the part number!

... where the fox head is (^^)

Hi Warren,
Did you just take your wheel off to find this out, or did you have a spare lying around?
