Swepco
I've read a couple of postings talking about Swepco. I am assuming this is some sort of transmission additive? If so what are the benefits and where do you get it?

It's actualy a brand name of lubricant. It appears that the best place (read cheapest) to get it is Zimms. I thought I had the web adress but I tried the link and it didn't appear to be right.

Swepco 201 is premium industrial gear lube. Pretty blue color and smelly. You can order right here from Pelican or Vertex. About 40 bucks a gallon. Drain and fill your tranny with a cheap gear lube and run it to flush it out while you wait for the swepco to come in. Then drain again and install the good stuff.

Pelican Parts (where you are now) sells it for $37.50. $2.46 more than the before mentioned site. It may even be cheaper or same with shipping involved.
I personally like to try to support our host!

Charlie ...I just received mine from Windward...by the time all was said and done it cost me about 42 bucks with shipping and handling. Guess shipping to CA does cost quite a bit from Vermont!!!! Gonna put the stuff in later today...did the drain and cheap lube for a week while waiting.

Yeah, the shipping is a shocker. Must be considered hazardous material. Shipping alone on mine was $11.00.

Please be aware that there are four different grades of Swepco 201 ... the 'blue' most suppliers are selling is the SAE 80W-90. I recall the 'straight' SAE 90 I used to get from Garretson Enterprises was just golden brown, or there was no color coding back in the '80's! Swepco 201 is also available in SAE 140 and SAE 250.

I also noticed that our host sells the Swepco at a reasonable price compared to at least one anonymous (Automotion) overpriced parts house. Indeed, I am making my order list now and finding that Pelican is quite competitive.
But what's up with those $18 non-limiter SC distributor rotors? ------------------ '83 SC |

Actually the swepco 203 is the best for track purposes, 201 is better for everyday use. Carquip Inc. carries both.

Does anyone know of a vendor that carries the 212? I've got a highly overburdened 915.
