thx to this inspiring board - introducing my c1 varioram

I'm reading this board for nearly three years.

time to say hello - and show the car that is made up with the help of all your inspiring posts.

if you like, pls. have a look at my "pelican inspired" blue 87 carrera 993 varioram, with lindseys, mb911 exhaust, 996 brakes wit 930 discs, footwell heaters managed by heatcontrol knob, neatrix bushings, adjustable konis, ....

the car is real big fun, as one guy stated long ago "drive with w..d"
one of the many nice stories round sourcing the parts was importing the lindseys as excess luggage on easter 2005 .... and save on customs because of a officer in easter mood ;-))

thanks again from thomas in stuttgart/germany

youtube with some technostyle music

youtube just with bens exhaust

P.S: The slow driving is "intended" - more spirited driving will follow as soon as it drys up a bit in souther germany ...

It's got all the cool stuff. Congrats! Look, it doesn't say PORSCHE on the rear reflector. How'd that happen? I need one of those.

Sweet Thomas! Hope the roads dry up soon:)

Wow, great 911!

The video is really well done. And probably the best MK muffler sound representation you can get from a video or audio file--sounds very similar to mine in my SC.

That is a beautiful 911 you have there, Tom. As Milt said, you've done all the right things to her (...and those Lindsey's are perfect on that car).

Very nice looking!

Nice!, Any issues w/ T&#220V?

Jon Merck 01-22-2007 12:50 PM

Sweet...I can't wait til my 3.6 is ready!

lfot 01-22-2007 01:13 PM

excellent car! can't wait to get my lindsey's.

That's a fantastic looking car. I love the way you've kept it reasonably stock looking with only subtle mods to it's appearance, yet it must be insanely fast. You have excellent taste.

Man, I'd love to whack a 3.6 in my '84, if only I could afford to. One day maybe... one day...

What size are the Lindseys? Your car looks awesome.

tuv was integrated in the build - no probs with them.

i'll add some pic of the brakes asap - as the system is a new config that uses 930 rear discs (slightly machined) all around.

=> lindseys are 8 and 10x17

=> thanks for the comments on the video - two of my colleagues: pei-sei and alex d. made it

=> credits for paint and engine conversion belong to harald / speedster94

Great car! An 'ultimate 911.'

jevvy 01-23-2007 11:56 PM

car looks great, good work.

dont suppose you fancy sharing how you got your footwell blowers to work off the heat dial?

I have a 3.6 conversion too with the RS heat tube and havent managed to get the blowers working following the removal of the engine blower.

Hope you can help

the heater thing worked out easier as suppossed. i put in a wire bridge into the heater relay in the engine bay - as described in one of the posts her (try the search) in addition to that i changed the location of two of the pins that lead to the heater relay. the result was convincing ;-). details will follow - as soon as the loads of snow here have melted a bit ...

jevvy 01-24-2007 02:47 AM

Thanks Tom, any additional details most welcome.

I have searched and read a few posts on here but never found the definitive answer.

Enjoy the 3.6
