915 Rebuilt.. Shifting question

I recently installed new seals, 1st/2nd brake hubs and bands to my 72 915 and I feel the job came out great. Synchros were in good shape. I've read many articles about "break in" as far as Hard shifting b/n 1st and 2nd. My question is about shifting from 1st to 2nd with moderate to hard accelation I am noticing that every now and again it doesnt want to pull into 2nd all the way. I am having to release the shift a little toward 1st and then pull it back down into 2nd, and it then goes smoothly. Of course at this point the rpm's have also wound down a bit. Is this normal, and should I "baby" it when shifting to 2nd or just pull it harder?... My thoughts are to continue doing what Im doing...
Note: Tranny maybe has 15miles since I've put in the parts mentioned. Will it break in correctly so I dont see this issue later?

Thanks

you really didn't replace many of the normal wear parts, so what you are feeling may be the way it's going to be. the syncros "looked" ok, but they were used, as well as the shift sleeve. new syncros and new shift sleeve need a while to break in, wear to each other, but yours are the same ones that were in there before.

Thanks for the input... I guess I will wait and see what happens w/ some time and when the tranny is a little more warmed up. Any other comments..

Favrok.. Never thought of that, but That seems to make Sense! Capital Idea.. Was this same problem resolved on yours with those mounts.. did you also change the motor mounts at the same time?
