Steering Wheel Pictures

With the stock steering wheel in my car I feel like it is to large. I have been thinking about trying a different steering wheel.

I would welcome recommendations and pictures to help me decided.

Thanks,

I replaced the original wheel on my 89 Coupe with a 930 steering wheel, you still can see your gauges perfectly and it's really comfortable...
The only problem is the mismatch between 20 year old leather
and new leather ... lol

What diameter is the 930 wheel and the Momo Prototipo?

I need to cut at least 1" from the diameter of the stock wheel.

Does having the smaller wheel affect your steering?

Momo Prototipo 13.75" in diameter (350mm) - they are small and obscure most of the important parts of the speedo. It's tougher at slow speeds and parking etc but worth it.

With the Momo steering wheels does the turnsignal cancel feature still work. I read on the Momo site that some cars it would not turn off your turn signal after turning.

Here are a couple of shots of mine. It's a Dino something or other that the PO installed. I like it. The turn signal canceler works fine. Not sure what a wheel has to do with that. I have to peer around the wheel at the gauges, just like any other smaller wheel, but I like the look and the feel and it makes it much easier to get in and out of the car.

Happy hunting!

Turn signal cancel works fine on Momo, you do need to buy a Momo/Porsche 911 hub kit, $40-$60.

Talewinds, that Retro looks great. I need to see more photos of your "murdered out" '88.

Lots of posts on wheel options. I have installed a MOMO MOd 07 and love it. It has a nish dish to it.

I installed a 350 mm Momo Competition with a JWest Engineering hub eccentric. The hub eccentric made a huge difference. The gauges are visible and I have a little extra clearance between the wheel and turn signal stalk. Well worth the $48.

Like Wildcat I have a 930s wheel on my car, it is off center so you have more room getting in and out of your car, sits 1 and 1/2 inches off the dash pad so more hand room. Plus it is Factory Porsche and looks very good.

Momo Millenium Sport Wheel

Recently installed this Momo Steering wheel which actually brought some color to the dark interior, for what it's worth. It also comes in black and blue stitching.

wheel

I went with a Nardi Wheel with the flat bottom.
Aftermarket bucket seats sit a little higher than stock so it made it a tight squeeze to get legs under wheel. Looks much better than the stock also IMHO.

I wouldn't go smaller than 350mm, since you can't see the gauges.
