Porsche Crest Finally Lowered my Carrera........Opinions?

So I finally lowered her.........She needed it bad.
What do you think?

I'm going in for an alignment on Thursday.........Just wondering if any Gurus have a suggestion of Camber / Toe-in specs that I should have it set up with. (front & rear)

It's mostly driven (hard) on the street. I'm sure there will be some track days in the future. Anyway, any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks.

That's a clone of my car !!! ...

(ahem)...nice.

There are a lot of threads on off-spec alignment settings, each with a different set of trade-offs between wear and performance. I may even have offered some advice myself.

I guess at this point I would only say make sure your lower A-arms are at least "level" (they were pointed *down* at the wheel-end, stock setting), and make doubly sure you didn't reverse this angle ( lower at the inboard pivot). This screws up the camber curve rather royally...but some guys are only after "the look" and never take techncially-based advice here on this topic. I don't know which camp you're in.

Also, if you're down about 1/2" or so from Euro spec...you might want to add the simple rack spacer bump-steer kit. Anything lower and I would advise the various spendy bump-steer kits like ERP or our own Chuck Moreland's ( Elephant Racing) device.

Sits like my car!
I had such a feeling of male excitement when I picked my car up from TRE after the lowering, corner balance and the 2 things listed below.
Have to agree with Will on the bump steer kit.
While you're in there, Turbo Tie Rod kit.

Just a warning though, be prepared to scrape the hell out of your chin spoiler. I'm EXTREMELY careful about it, and I've still managed to chew mine up a bit. It's still worth it though.

Well let's see the clone! I always knew my car had a twin out there somewhere but I haven't seen it yet.

Myself a couple of friends, & 2 bottles of Jagermiester lowered it......Put on the 4 netrix bushings on the rear spring plates too........That was fun! (NOT!)
That tool that comes in the kit is a real piece of work.
Don't even try to get those stock bushings off without a torch.
It is not possible.........
But it's done now and all is good.

your best bet would be to have it taken to a shop that can corner balance and align it

Looking very good, lower in the front which should be the correct set-up to avoid becoming airborne at high speeds. Welcome to the club of active scrapers, lots of fun !!!!!! RAY........

SWEET!

Just be EXTRA careful approaching speed bumps and driveways...
Always at an angle, and SLOW DOWN, or you'll be leaving more than just the chin spoiler behind!

Where is the closest shop to get it corner-balanced at? Please tell me there is one in Eugene or closer. Portland is too far to drive it without being aligned first. I'm getting it done (alignment only) in Grants Pass, Or. at Hendersonds Line-up.......$150.

For all the scrapers out there.. I made some guards from some aluminum sprocket guards(bike parts) the sandwich around the tow-hooks lower than my lowest body work, and by the looks of them(beat up) they are doing there job. I saw something similar for 996's/boxsters in the Performance Catalog, but mine were cheaper(free).

Looks great Matt. What are your heights front and rear?

Jim, care to show us what they look like now? I know the parts you're referring to in a certain other catalog. Curious how you made them work for our cars.

Thanks,
Mike

I think it's too low, not that my opinion will matter much to you.

Cheers,
