OK, I know that the front fuel pump in the Carrera's are switched on by the DME relay, but I'm wondering whether the DME relay can also drive a second (rear) fuel pump, in parallel?
Currently, my rear fuel pump (BOSCH 044 unit) is connected to my ignition switch, so whenever the ignition is switched on (engine not running), all I can hear is an annoying buzzing in the rear. The pump is mounted just under the parcel shelf and it's darn loud! I want to wire it such that it only switches on when the engine is cranked and is running. Advice/suggestions please ![]() EDIT: OK, I found out that the BOSCH 044 fuel pump draws 11A, so running two of those off the one DME Relay may cause premature DME Relay failure. I think I might wire a second DME Relay in parallel to the original one and use the 2nd DME and Fuel Pump outputs to power my rear fuel pump and possibly my piggy-back MAP-ECU computer.
