"No E offered in '70" ?????????????
Guess I better go re-badge my car or change the manufacture date on it somehow or something ?????? Where'd that come from ? Stoddard ??? At least that's incorrect.

It was the 1694th 1970 911T Coupe (not Karmann)

oops, I missed the page before the T's. the E's would have been in 911 020 0001-1304 series
my bad, not Stoddard's K = Karmann coupes are listed as 911 010 0001-2418, P = Porsche coupes are listed as 911 012 001-4126

What is the difference between a Karmann and a Porsche body?
Is it a visable difference? Is one more valuable? Thanks! (I just sold 911 011 1886)

Long-time supplier Karmann GmbH built Coupe bodies for Porsche until the factory expansion was fully functional and Porsche was finally able to produce enough Targas and Coupes to meet demand.
There aren't any visible difference that I know of. I don't think the market values one over the other. |

early vin numbers can be decoded knowing that the numbers after the 911 stand for:
1st #: year (0=1970, 1=1971,...) 2nd#: T,E,S (T=1, E=2, S=3) 3rd#: body style (0=coupe, 1=targa) last 4#: build number (1694= 1694th 1970T coupe produced) hope that helps Brian |

Thanks All. I looked at a '70 T today. It looked like swiss cheese it was so rusted. A few decent parts but that was it.
Cheers,
