what green is equal to green?

Hi all, I'm considered buying a 1973 but am confused about the color stated by him the owner.

My question thus is Emerald Green 3810 (Viper Green) teh same as Kelly green please?

Paint codes were not four digits for 1973 models ... unless the car was custom-ordered from the factory by an earlier paint code!

For 1973, Viper Green was paint code 225. On the factory paint code plate would have been stamped 225 - 9 - x ... where 'x' could be 1, 2, or 3 ... for Lesonal, Glasurit, or Herberts as the paint vendor.

The seller should be asked for confirmation of the data on the factory paint code plate in the driver's door jam area. His informal reference to an earlier four-digit paint code may be incorrect!

Yes, in some sales brochures used in the US they used the term "Kelly Green" instead of "Viper Green". In Germany and a lot of paint produces catalogue the term "Emerald Green" is used. They all have the same paint code and they are the same colour. these colours are correct for 72-73. A similar colour wwas available in 70-71 and was called "Conda Green" This colour is not the same and do not have the same paint code. Even earlier there was a colour called "Signal Green" whitch also is very similar but also not the same as the two above.

Gelb green is yellow green.

Nitegreen I have never heard of, look at www.elferhelfer.com for all the official Porsche colours.

Seller has sent a picture of the certificate of authentic for the car I consider buying. It shows paint code as Emerald (Kelly) Green / 3810

Now I am really confused!

Emarald Green/Kelly Green is the same colour as Viper Green. The paint tag code should be 3838 and the glassurit code is 225 for 1973. For 1972 it should be paintcode 3810/225. Its the same colour but I dont know why they changed the code from 72-73.
