Spring Plate Bushings: Poly-Graphite or Neatrix ?
 

Replacing spring plate bushings. Which ones have you used? Where did you get them? Pelican doesn't state the material of its busihings. ANyone know? Automotion has bushings called "Neatrix". Any one used them. What are your experiences? Car is used as a daily driver.

i asked a similar question a while ago and what i found is that they are nice, stiff, and they sqeak badly.

i have a friend with bushings like that on his car and he says that he gets a kick out of the squeaks. when you hit the gas the whole suspension chirps like the blowoff valve on a turbo. yes, and everyone can hear it in all the cars around you. the squeaking doesn't bother him though, it's nonstop entertainment.

In addition to Automotion/Performance Pelican can get Neatrix rear bushings for you (that's who I bought mine from --- call and ask for Darren Bond) --- my intentions were to replace my quiet, soft original ones without having to buy the whole suspension assembly and maybe get a little firmer control without the harsh ride/squeek of plastic ones --- but haven't installed them yet (weather sucks here right now). And if they work out OK then I'll probably go with ones for the front when they become available.

I'm in the process of changing out to adjustable spring plates with polyurethane bushings. I'm adding a compression grease fitting to the spring plate cover to lube from time to time to combat noise. If you have to fit these bushings into place by sanding the exterior, here is a hint. Find the closest sized hole saw that will fit the interior dimensions. Use tape if too small to obtain the proper size. Now attach to an electric drill and place the bushing against coarse sand paper to sand the exterior. Takes about 15min per side. The finished product is symetrical and fits correctly. I could'nt imagine doing this by hand.

I just had the Netrix bushings installed on my 83SC.I also had the Bilstien Sport shocks
put on at the same time,BIG difference!!!
really handles well and rides GREAT, no problems, no squeeks, very happy! oh yea,,
had car lowered too !

how did you get rid of the squeaks? or were they never there?
