				915 needle cage bearing

I am in the process of reassembling my tranny, and after buying all (i though they were ALL) needed parts, i found out that one of the needle cage bearings is broken. I got all my parts from the US, since here in Guatemala there is only one porsche parts store, which is the dealer...extremely expensive and everytime I wanted to order they mentioned that they should bring the parts from the US. To make the story short, I would like to save some time and money for ordering just one bearing. So, i wonder if the needle cage bearings are a proprietary Porsche part or if I could get those in a bearing store...maybe a SKF or Timken part number? Thanks in advance for your help Mario

Are you talking about the bearing that goes bewteen the gears and the shafts? As far as I know, these things are only available from Porsche or aftermarket places that sell parts for Porsche boxes. I do not think they are generally available, although I have heard that someone (Wevo?) may be looking into an alternative source. Have you ever tried to order from a dealer here in the US?

Yes, I normally order from our host and other P parts sources (Wayne dont get mad, just a few times). But shipping to here is not cheap (many times more expensive than the parts themselves), so everytime that its possible I try to purchase localy..that,s the reason for my questiion, but I guess I would have to order in the US in this case. Thanks
