fuchs opinion

well,, I'm doing ye ol' polish job on my fuchs. What do you guys (and girls) like,, full polish or just the spoke part? I like both but I can't very well do both types on the same car. I'd end up on beaterz.com for sure. :-)

I think it would be much easyer to just polish the tops of the spokes and the rims when you do your wheel polish every few months to keep them pretty. IMHO the fully polished wheel looks weird. Polished spokes and rims looks nice, not something I would do but OK. But again IMHO you have to leave the paint in the back ground or it looks weird.

Look at the recently placed pictures and make up your mind.
I like the partially polished ones, as they still have a sort of "original" look, but more glossy appearance.
Appearance also varies with Rim size! I (personally only) think that new style 6" fully polished look a bit "cheap", wheras 8" or 9" are not that bad!

I'll sound in on the polished spokes and rim, but painted insets -- to me it's the classic Porsche look. I think fully polished looks odd, and I've never gotten used to the painted-center-anodized-rim look.

Fully polished rims do look a bit weird (that's how mine were). Basically, they're so shiny, they blast the viewer. You're driving a 911, not a Miata, you WANT people to notice more about the car than the glare coming from the rims.
I was wondering about coloring the inner spokes to match your paint rather than simply coloring them black. I think I'll try this over thanksgiving break just for fun.

Ever see a Match Box Porsche with all polished rims??? That polished spoke/rim with black insets just screams classic Porsche.

Thanks, Jim.

I say, if a point's worth making, it's worth making twice, with pictures:

well, I'm definately leaning toward the polished lip/spoke look. Jack, in the last pic you posted,,, are your spokes polished all the way down to the inset,, or just half way?
Thanks everyone for your posts and comments. I'll post some pics when my baby is complete.
