Rear valance mod for dual exhaust?

I just got a new B&B stainless dual outlet muffler, and need to modify the rear valance before I can mount it up. Has anyone gone through this before? I'm trying to see where I should begin, and what tools/procedures are best for the job. Thanks in advance for any input.

I can offer part of what you need. If the one outlet fits well in the existing cut-out, then put a piece of cardboard in the hole (once you've taken the old muffler out), and trace the shape of that cut-out with a pen or pencil. Then cut the shape out, so you have a piece of cardboard witha hole cout out of it, and flip it. Position the flipped piece on the other side so that the two cut-outs are the same size and shape (and equally spaced from the center of the valence).

Needless to say, verify that the second outlet is going to come out where you cut the hole. Mine was fiberglass, so it cut pretty easily.

Before you cut up your bodywork remove the rear valance and install the new muffler. Start it up and drive around the block. You may not like it. Sure is best to know this BEFORE you permanently alter your rear end.

Also, taken that you like the muffler, note if the muffler is horizontally level. Heat exchangers can be a little crooked. You can then take measurements with it installed to calculate exactly where the holes in your valance should be cut.
