Car won't start - I messed up the wiring

86 Carrera

OK I know this was stupid

Track car - a/c, blowers, heat, fogs, radio, alarm etc... all gone.

I thought I would cut out all the extra wiring under the hood to tidy things up and reduce the risk of an errant wire causing a short etc....

Now the car won't start. Cranks but no start.

I cut the main harness adjacent to the wiper motor, everything cut with the exception of:

I remembered to connect the red/white and green/red that used to go to the alarm. Colors to not match the wiring diag but it was ok before.

I forgot the blue to blue/red for the alternator but I figured it out.

Car still wont start. What should I check for?

I just had a thought, I did not connect all the grounds, could ti be as simple as that?

Thanks in advance

You need to see if it does not have spark or fuel i suspect no spark . Crank engine over with starter motor observe tachometer will cranking. Does tach needle pulse slightly look hard if it does not then you do not have spark. Did you cut wiring with battery connected? You may have damaged alarm control unit. Does alarm still work? Try the simple things first. Best regards and good luck. Will try to help more after response tom

Just in case anyone searches to my mistake...

be sure to connect the blue/red and blue wires (alternator)

and Black/red and black wires (DME signal)

anytime you disconnect or remove the alarm control module
