Monty Muffler Pic
Greetings All,
Am thinking about putting a single in/single out Monty muffler on my car. Have an 84 cab/narrow body. Was wondering if anyone had a pic of this muffler on a narrow body car. Monty makes a 75mm and a 100mm muffler. I'm actually interested in the 75mm one. Can't stand that "ricey" look - especially on our cars and I also don't want a tip that sticks out too far. Anyway, if anyone has a pic, that would be great. Mike |

Not a narrow body, but I do have a single in, single out 75mm Monty.
I think it would look about the same on a narrow body 911. I've had it almost 10 years. Very nice quality, fit, and sound.

Thanks all,
Awesome car dsmeyer. JV911Sydney - unfortunately can't see pics. But am getting the idea anyway what it would look like on my car. To be honest, I always loved the black dual tip that was on the 930 Turbos. Understated and tough and when you saw it you knew the car meant business. At least thats what I always thought - and still do. I also like mods to these cars that keep the original look of the car. Have heard nothing but great things about the Monty. So, I'm thinking, a 75mm Monty and then have the tip painted a nice flat black. Again, thanks for your responses. When i get this far, I'll of course post pics. Mike |

Monty makes a great muffler. Love mine mated to SSI's
I ordered a 75 mm tip, but looking at the pics, it appears they sent me a 100 mm...never liked how it sticks out...oh well ! May have to trim it someday.

I'm with you concerning the sticking out part. Beautiful SC though! Lemme ask you, I assume you mated your monty to SSI's and then put in a new chip. Have heard that bang for buck, I'd be better of going with Monty + Cat Bypass + new chip? Did you notice HP gain from your setup?

My car is an 82..CIS (no way to chip like your motronic 84)
Did not dyno the car, but a noticeable improvement in torque & HP. Engine seems to "breathe" so much better. V8 rumbling sound at idle, screaming fan sound above 4000 rpms. Other than suspension mods, the best bolt-on I have done, well worth the $$ spent.

Ok, clueless me - should have seen that it was an SC from your pic. that explains why SSI's made such an improvement. Can't wait to get a Monty!

2in 2out Monty is designed with a balance tube effect. I don't know about the 1out?

Type 911,
You have a 75mm tip. The 75 vs 100 mm refers to the diameter of the exhaust exit hole, it should not affect how far "out" the muffler tip extends on your car. I got a decent deal on a 100mm but man, is it big - too much for my taste but I couldn't pass up the savings.
