Hello,
Three main things, no matter what kind of paint or gun. I would trial various settings and spray some test panels keeping track of the settings. 1). Atomzing air 2). Fluid flow 3). viscosity Other variables include evaperation rate of the reducing solvent used, part to gun distance, temperature and humidity. Good luck

Mark is correct.
You need: Proper air pressure (at the tip) for the product used. Proper gun tip size (primer versus topcoat tip) and gun adjustment for the product used. Proper reducer for the temperature and mix ratio for the product used. Test your adjustments and vary your spraying technique until it’s right. What is your "standard" gun...Siphon or gravity HVLP? -Ernie

Sorry, by standard I meant siphon. My problem was not increasing pressure after using my HVLP primer gun. I upped the pressure and it lays down like glass. I guess I had an "oldtimers " moment.
Thanks |
