What Battery to Install???

Ready to power up my 1978 911 SC. What battery should I get for the new trunk paint to enjoy???
Went to auto parts and they wanted to sell me a HUGE battery that they said was original size - may have been group 41 ?
It looked like it should be in a suburban - not a 911....

Your best advice would be much appreciated!

thanks
john

This is not for the weight watcher crowd, but I used this one:

Optima P/N / label info off of the box:
9003-151
34R-1050 RED TOP

This is the heavier 800 CCA battery (~39 lbs). I'm not sure if they make it in the lighter 720 CCA (~34 lbs).

It fits in my 84 Carrera using the stock mounting method (no adapter plate), but did have to elongate the hole for the side clamp that came with the battery, and, buy a longer (12") ground cable, as the stock one on my car was about 1-2 inches too short

It has the correct reversed top posts, and has the proper mounting lip on the ends (instead of on the sides). It also came with various mounting tabs/clamps.

I PM'd this info to Wayne at PP... He said he will forward it to his catalog group, but I have not seen it on their web site yet. Got mine from Summit Racing dot com.

Hope This Helps
