That is a great ad. PAG knows how to sell cars. I wish car ads nowadays had some of that quality. Most ads today are plain silly. This one does not even need a speaker voice. It is all in the pictures. Great!

Nice. They don't make 'em like that anymore (both the cars and the ads).

Of the many wonderful things in the Porsche tent at the 1998 Monterey Hysterics, possibly the best was a large screen running a continuous loop of PAG commercials, many of which seem to have never aired in the US...

I love the transition from the BP race car to the stock car. Beautiful. Makes me want to buy one.

Nothing better than a rally 911 copping air. I occasionally pause to reflect on the 911s lengthy racing heritage when I get passed by a soulless yet faster late model whatever. There's really nothing left to prove with these cars.

Great ad. Perfect example of why the rules changes to make world championship rallyes into econobox races was simply the most stupid act ever in the international scene!

hey fatass

if you hit 'quote' on the post w/ the youtube vid, you will be able to extract the html text for the link. maybe that way you can cut and paste into your own browser directly?

it's a basic youtube vid... should be playing... maybe your work computer has some filters... but it even works on my work machine... don't give up, it's worth it!

Well, that explains it. I did that and youtube.com is blocked but not this site so the link won't show up. Thanks for the help, I'll check it out when I get home. BTW, I didn't realize fatass wasn't filtered.

I saw a comercial once that was set at the ring I believe.
It started with a foggy sort of morning shot of the road (track) with the sound of the high-winding engine in the background.
No voice over....just the sound of the car.
Then the car flies by the camera at incredible speed...the camera slowly pans around but the car is gone.
Then the voice over comes in and says"If you want to see the Porsche 911, you will have to go to the showroom".
Love that commercial....have only seen it once...still remember it.
