ID Sticker
Hey Guys,
I have had my 88 for about 9 months now and in that time rebuilt the motor. When I bought the car I had it checked out and the only concern was a missing ID sticker in the drivers door area (near the striker plate). The car has original chassis number tags on all other major components (engine, trans, doors, deck lid, front trunk, fenders etc) indicating original bodywork. The car has never been banged, but has had a little paint and is otherwise mint with all original bills including original bill of sale. Although not a major concern to me, I think if I ever wanted to sell the car it may put people off. My question is: Would Porsche supply me an ID for the door jamb given the correct supporting documentation was supplied to them? I wonder what people do who repair cars with damage to this area, surely they must be able to get replacement ID's? Any thoughts welcome. Do you have the VIN/option sticker on the inside of the front boot behind the latch? This is also a factory sticker location so if you don't have it you should get that too. That sticker is just plain paper and white with black typeface.
