Where's the extra costs in a 2.7 rebuild?
 
I hear it all the time, "It'll cost a small fortune to rebuild a 2.7, best to put in a 3.0 or greater."

So what exactly makes the 2.7 so horrendously more expensive than any other motor? The line bore? Case savers? These aren't unusual nor uncommon in other motors, are they? So what, besides valve guides, is driving the CW on the 2.7's?

Mag Case that is stressed out from thermal expansion.

Cost of a good rebuild on a 2.7 is approx the same as a 3.0
