87 911 Heater/AC Blowers Questions
Seems all of the blowers are beginning to squeel and howl at once; even the AC condenser blower. Replacement cost from the dealer is unbelievable considering the poor quality of the blowers. Any suggestions for the best alternate replacements or rebuild techniques. While I'm at it, any suggestions for an alternate AC blower that will move more air with less noise? Thanks

Just a thought. Is your neighbors cat missing? Could be related. Sorry. I know you wanted a serious answer. There are several previous threads discussing this phenomonon. Try those.

Try junk yards on the net, ex.: Parts Heaven, Ian's Europarts. I had to replace 3 of the 5 blowers in my '84 and the most i paid was $90.00.

When my condenser fan failed I was appalled at the cost of replacement from the dealer (only sold as complete blower assembly).
I talked to Pelican and they told me they did not have a listing for just the motor but could get anything from Bosch if I had the Bosch part number. I gave them the numbers stamped into the motor and got a brand new one for about $50. ------------------ Brian Boss Dallas, Tx 87 911 72 911T |

Try Carquip in Boulder, CO. They probably have a good motor, as I bought just the housing from them awhile back. The housing is easilly disassembled by removing the black metal clips. The motor is held in by the gold screws in the back of the housing. Their address is www.carquip.com Phone 303-443-1343. Ask for Roger.
