Can these be put on a 3.0 with just a jet mod?
Or are they just for smaller engines.

You will probably need larger venturis as well as a jet change, but 40s can work fine on a street 3.0. The cams you use and rpm range where the power peak is determines the size of the venturis needed.

So the carbs themselves are fine?
as long as they say 40ID what ever letters are after are not important?
they just signafy the settings?
