reliability of 3.6 to Andial 3.8 ?

I am considering buying a '94 911.The car has a 3.8 Andial upgrade with head work. This was done at 22k miles, the car now has 60k miles. Are the Andial cylinders nikasil ? How reliable is this motor ?

I am pretty sure ANDIAL only use mahle pistons and cylinders. If built right a 3.8 is just as reliable as a 3.6L .

ANDIAL is among the best out there in terms of quality. If I were buying this car I would have to see some papers, ANDIAL should also have a some records on the rebuild also. Still have motor checked out though.

Good luck

If you buy it make sure you post about it. Sounds like an interesting rig.

Okay, this will be a reliable and quality build. The Mahle 3.8 p/c upgrade is indeed Nikasil. Maybe Ralph (carrera 3.5l) can chime in here, he used to work in their parts department and could probably shed some more light.

They did not get famous for building unreliable motors....

Cheers
