broke my spotweld cutter and can't get the cutter bit off!

Blair spotweld cutters; busted the teeth on the first spotweld (pushed too deep) and now i can't get the damn cutter off the shaft. i tried the wrench/plier bit and even cranked the thing tight in a vise but that cutter steel is some might hard ****!

any thoughts?

If you have access to a grinding wheel, you could grind two flats on opposite sides. that would let you clamp it securely in a bench vise. You might be able to do the same thing with a Dremel tool.

I looked at their website. It seems that the thing slides off the shaft, not twist off. Does that help or even make sense?

milt there are 2 types of cutters. mine are the cheaper (i think) all black bits that can be flipped around. in looking at the 3 spares i got there appears to be threads.

little bastards will cut through some steel though! i mistakenly went all the way through both the support and pan on the first (and only so far) spot weld.
