9 Inch Fuchs: Got to Love Them

I have been on the board a while and have neglected to post a picture of my car. Well today I took advantage of one of the 100 or so days of sun we get in NE Ohio. Special thanks to Jason Cullen who provided excellent service and sold me a great set of wheels. Front and rear of the car need to settle but it looks like I am going to have to lower it a bit more due to the lower profile tires.

Peter-

After some agonizing, I went 245-45/16 and 205-50/16. The picture of the back did not come out very well. The 245s look great from the behind. Thanks for the positive comments.

Doug,
The car looks great. And, you can't go wrong dealing with Jason Cullen. Very straight-up guy to deal with.

Looks GREAT! I love it. Any issues with rubbing, or have you had a chance to really drive it with that white stuff on the ground? Also, what brand of tire did you go with. We all know sizes vary between manufacturers.

Thanks,
Mike

Which tire did you go with in the 245/45 size?

Thanks guys. I have not had a chance to drive the car since I put on the new rims/tires. Too much salt in this part of the country for my liking.

I went with Avon tires from tire rack. Seemed to be a good value. Hopefully I will like the performance once I get them on the road.

Very cool. I thought long and hard about the Avon's but ended up with RE750's, also from Tire Rack on my 9's.

When you get them broken in, let us know what you think about them. IMO, they appear to be a terrific performance / cost compromise.

205/50/16

I bought those for my front 7" as well.

I'm going to go for 55 series next time....curious on your thoughts so far.

I seem to be getting harshness up front, but it could be shot shocks

Doug, Love the looks of those 7's and 9's...Wow!! What did you have before? I'm new to P-cars as of November and would like any information you could pass along.

My 87 came with 6's and 7's X 16 and I would like to at least go to 6's and 8's. Or even 7's and 8's!

If you exchanged your smaller sets, was the difference a big expense?

That thing looks great! Are there any disadvantages to going w 7" and 9"s over 7" and 8"s? I have the latter combo and I would love to go with 9s in the back but I was always concerned with greater understeer and greater unsprung weight outweighing the benefit of the greater grip in the rear. Any comments?

PatrickB. Now that's super pimp. 8s and 9s. I'm not sure I'm ready for that. How much was the set, if you don't mind me asking? Is the steering now very heavy? Any rubbing?
