Please Help identify This Part!

This is in the dumb question category..... I found this part on the floor of my 911 and i am wondering if it fell off during my Momo wheel upgrade or was there from something else. I do not see it in the workshop manual but I could be wrong.

Any thoughts????

I'm pretty sure that's a finger-earmuff. We use them all the time in Canada to prevent frostbitten nails.

Judging by that photo, it's a set of tiny earphones. Or a huge finger.

Looks like the circlip that goes on the steering shaft behind the wheel.

Well, actually, I think that is the large circlip that goes on the steering column, holding the upper column bearing in place.. I don't know what exactly happens if it is not there, but I think the car is safe to drive that way...

Thanks Mark, I see it now. For some reason I didn't see it at first since I thought it would have been represented in an other spot by the wheel.

Putting it back on now!!
