Four Simple Questions
Here we go......
1. How do you replace that shift lever bushing (ball cup) in a the '74 - 915. Do I have to remove the entire shifter unit? 2. Where specifically is the fuel pump and in line check valve for my model? 3. Must you remove the airbox to replace a cold start valve or what is the easiest way to replace it? 4. The rear defroster has no identified relay in the engine compartment. Is their one inline so I can get this thing to work? For my mechanically blessed friends thank you in advance. BR '73T |
I had a '73.5T (2.7) also some time ago (10 yrs). As I recall: 1. Yes you need to pull the shifter rod/stick out to replace the ball cup. 2. The fuel pump on mine was in a little tray near the drivers side torsion bar for the rear wheel. 3. The cold start valve had two screws holding it in the air-box. If you can get to them, remove them, and remove the injector while not losing the O-ring, more power to you. If not remove the air-box. This way if you do not already have a pop-off valve in the air-box, install one NOW! 4. The relay should be the square one in the engine compartment on the drivers side with the fuses under the plastic cover. Mine didn;t work either so good luck. I am sure Warren can correct me on anything I missed or forgot about. Good Luck! Nick '85 wanting to be a '73 |
