Fuel Filter Change
Will not start after fuel filter change. Feels like its not getting any fuel. Have cranked it over awhile. Before I trash a starter any sugestions? If this was my old chevy I'd pour a little fuel down the carb.

With all of the extra, free carbonates and silicates the gas companies occasionally give away in their gasoline these days, you may want to check the brass screen filter in the gas tank for clogging???
Have you checked for gas output at the outlet of the new filter? ------------------ Warren Hall 1973 911S Targa |

I just changed my fuel filter, and it started right up after a few cranks. My guess is, the fuel lines aren't properly attached.
Once you crank it, the fuel pump will have pumped some fuel in to the area. Remove the fuel filter and see if it has gas in it...Did you remove the plastic top from the new filter? I know it sounds stupid, but there's a cap on one end of the filter when you pull it out of the box. ------------------ Kurt B 1984 911 Carrera Cabriolet 75 914 1.8 |

Take the stereo to the garage, put in an Israel CD, let the car listen to that big guys sweet music and the car will treat you better, I don't know if this will really work but it will make you feel better working on the car.

Possible manufacturer's defect??? Take it off & try blowing thru it & see if there are any obstructions. Put the old one back on to see if it works. Lastly, spray a little engine starting fluid into the horn... maybe it'll go & straighten out the fuel flow.

The Israel CD did not work Randy, however in trouble shooting the filter I found the O2 sensor off. Pluged it back in and it started right up. That's wierd.
again thanks steve |
