static timing
Can i set the static ignition timing point, by using an old fashion ignition light between the negative side of the coil and ground, whiteout damaging the CDI box or other things.. in my SC ? the distributer is a pointless type.

I think that will not hurt anything. It sounds like the light you are using just passes the current from the coil to ground when the coil fires so It shouldn't hurt anything.
For me the easy way to set the static timing is visually. Just take off the cap, rotor, and dust cover and you will see the magnetic "teeth" that rotate by the sensor. When the tooth makes it's closest approach to the center of the sensor that is the point that will cause the spark. -Andy |
