Lug Nuts

I know that OEM lug nuts are made of high strength aluminum. Now that my 15x7 fuchs have been refinished, I need to either paint them or get new black lugs. The going rate seems to be $90 for a full set of 20. A guy on eBay has some forged aluminum lugs that are 14x1.5. Not sure if those fit but a full set is only $25.

Just get some Wurth satin paint and do it yourself.

joetiii 02-11-2007 02:44 PM

Is Wurth a spray paint or a brush on?

What stores sell this brand?

Rot 911 02-11-2007 02:47 PM

Spray paint. Most chain auto parts stores carry it.

watch out on the aftermarket nuts. for fuchs you need the domed face to seat against the wheels. most aftermarket have a straight conical face. only seats against the wheel at two points. Don.

Will check it out. Thanx

Rustoleum 7777 is also a perfect match to satin black Fuchs...and durable....and relatively cheap... and readily available everywhere.

I've used a black sharpie pen for a quick lug nut refinish.

+1. I used it on a set of 15x6's I refinished about a year ago and it is hard to tell from OEM.

Can the Rustoleum 7777 or Wurth Satin paints mentioned here for wheel and lug touch ups be used to touch up door handle scratches also, or is that a different type of paint?

Regards,
David.

Black printers ink did a nice job for me. I applied it to the lug nuts with a foam brush. You can thin the ink slightly with some solvent. It was faster than using a 'sharpie' and the color matches perfectly.

I've used the Wurth satin black to restore door handles, window frame trim, etc.. It did a nice job.

Wil Ferch 07-06-2009 06:19 PM

Rustoleum 7777 can be used in a number of places....door handles, window trim, backing board in the trunk , underhood of Chevys ( ! ) .....pretty universal stuff.
