Well,
The original quartz clock on my 74' just stopped working and the bezel was impossible to pry off. So I e-bay'd a clock from a 78'. It worked fine but then I noticed pretty quick that it was slow by about an hour or two a day. Finally got around to trying to fix it. Took it out and was able to remove the bezel. Nothing looked loose or broke. I exercised the gears and sprayed some Triflow (that I use on my bike) on the gears. The clock was dimmer than the rest of the gauges. I noticed that the case was much duller (if not grayer than the original clock). I did the aluminum duct tape as discussed on this forum, and put it all back together. Now it is keeping great time and is very bright. Now I have a new problem. It is so much brighter that the other gauges that I am going to have to do the aluminum duct tape trick on them now. Oh well, add it to the project list
