Newbie first picture
I understand this is expected so here goes...
87 with 150,000 miles, virtually unmodified other than an obvious cutout for previous 2 out muffler that I hope Wayne will help me fill. Scare during PPI with low compression (I still think it was a mistake) but after 1000 miles and a valve adjustment, all six are 160 to 170. The car had been driven little in 2.5 years. Tons of oil pressure, all new brakes. I've flushed brake and clutch and installed ACE Blue plus M1 in the trans. Paint is chipped to hell and back with a little fading on the roof and the interior is like new. I paid a song and could not be more happy with it and to have finally joined this group. Newbie lesson learned... Never drop your first picture in the middle of a urination contest to make a fellow first-timer feel better. And yes, I know Rarly L8 is taken. It was the previous owner's plate. I did ask to keep one of them though :) http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1171248842.jpg |
Nice looking car. Guards Red is one of my fav colors. Welcome.

Good looking car! Nice to see higher milage cars. Is it your daily car? I daily drive my SC 267,000 now.
Welcome! Cheers, Cooper |
Welcome...Nice car, there are thousands of folks here willing to help with the tech stuff as well as people willing to come and lend a hand at an engine drop party. (you supply the beer of course!) Also, make sure you buy our hosts book called 101 Projects for your Porsche..You won't regret it, but eventually your checkbook will!

Welcome! Nice to see another Virginian on board!

Were in Va. did you purchase the car? I swear I've seen that plate before.

Wilkommen, 1987 is a great year. I too want to look into correcting a PO's cutout for a 2-out muffler, so I'll be watching for your updates on what you end up doing. You've got a beautiful car and a lot of new friends here.

Nice looking Carrera.
Where at in VA Beach are you? I'll be back down there (hopefully) in about a year and half. -Matt |
Welcome, looks great.

Thanks Gentlemen. A dream since childhood... Some answers.
I have "the book" and thankfully can skip a few of the 101 :) The car was in Richmond VA, west end. I'm in Larkspur off Independence. I won't drive it daily just to cut down on the cleaning time but hopefully a few days a week. Can't give up the bike either. I hope to stick with stock HEs, cat bypass, a 2 out muffler, just trying to figure out which one. Not crazy loud, but a little more sporty. The wholes are big so I think a 3in pipe would be nice. Thanks again for the welcome. Clutch is not great so that engine drop may come sooner than later... |
Welcome !!
Great looking car. And so the passion, obsession and money draining begins.. ;) |
