Measure it again, it's not 260mm, it's 245mm. Casting pattern from later cars, coil studs should be at the 10:00 position. 901 casting number ending in 5R means it's pre-78. 75A Motorola/Marchal alternator gives it away, bigger than the earlier 55A from the 2,2-2,4, so what you have is a fan housing from a 2,7 911 1974-1977 and a fan from a 1969-1975 911.

thank
John thank you.
![]() At present There are only two good 911 shroud makers for the type IV engine going into a bug. ![]() The red shroud is made by Mr. Rolf Klaus. The blue shroud is made by Mr. Eddie Remmele I prefer the Mr. Klaus, however Mr. Klaus shroud is made for a 225mm custom assembly. I just don't want to start all over again by buying Mr. Klaus system. Mr. Remmele, has a well deserved bad rep of getting one funds and falling into a black hole. Both gentlemen live in Germany. Since you have enlightened me to what I have to work with, I may take the path of doing one myself. In the how to modify your 911 I see there are I believe four shroud for the 911. I have noted a green one I like. If I were lucky enough to get a shroud, and maybe the deflector that attaches to the rear of the interior alt area, would this cooling system keep my car cool running? |
