Need help with brake line mystery
To make a long story short...
I purchased a 1976 Targa as a project not long ago during mid repairs. I purchased the car right after the previous owner had removed the master cylinder and disassembled the pedal cluster to replace the plastic bushings with bronze ones. Since purchasing the car I have rebuilt and reinstalled the pedal cluster. I am now to the point of installing the new master cylinder. My problem is not the common rubber grommet question but rather a question about the hard brake lines that attach to the master cylinder. As I was about to reattach the brake lines, I noticed there were three hard brake lines (rear, front left, and front right) but there are only two openings on the master cylinder. This is a 19mm master cylinder and the 19mm master cylinder upgrade makes no mention of the fact that there are three brake lines and only two openings. So my question is, where does the third brake line go? Is there a coupler that combines the two front brake lines into one that attaches to the master cylinder or what. Pictures would also be helpful to assist in the explanation. I look forward to solving this problem as it is the final thing to fix before she's roadworthy. Thanks, Rufus |
