Broken cable on a closed sunroof
Anyone have a method of removing a broken cable if the sunroof is closed? The first step is to slide back the cover under the sunroof itself - there doesn't seem to be a way to get to the front clips unless you open the sunroof a few inches.
Also, should cables be replaced as a pair, or should I only replace the broken one? |

I am not sure on this (I own a Targa), but I believe your car has a manual crank for the sunroof, just for such an occasion. It seems that the access point is under the headliner, behind the sunroof, but I could be way off base.

The crank is useful if the motor is not functional.
I tried the hand crank and one side begins to open but the other side won't budge. I didn't want to force it for fear of breaking something. |

I just did my cables. You can pry the headliner down with the sunroof closed. Then slide the headliner back.
