Steering Wheel Question

I am new to the forum...been reading for the past couple years but, never posted. Here are a few pics of my car. 1983 Euro Targa SC, I currently live in Italy. Very low mileage car...only 110,000Km/66,000 miles. My question is the steering wheel on the car, it says Lamborghini, has a porsche crest. I have never seen this steering wheel on any other p-cars. Is it original?

Thanks

No, that wheel isn't original to the car. It's out of a Lamborghinin Jalpa and someone has added the Porsche crest. It's interesting that the color comes that close to matching your interior color.

Here's one installed in a Jalpa. Keep in mind there were different versions of this wheel; not all Jalpas had exactly the same one, but I didn't want to search the net all morning for an exact match:

The wheels are BBS wheels, the rights have pretty good curd rash, they will be going off the car this summer. The car has a buyer pending, if it doen't sell, I will keep the car.

Does anyone know how a lamborghini steering wheel would end up on the car? Other than the tail...everything is else is very stock.

A past owner must have liked that wheel better, and installed it. Who knows why or how? There are other differences from stock, too. Aside from the wheels, the black protective vinyl decals ahead of the rear wheels has been added, the Carrera badge on the rear, the engine fan and housing clamp and a few other odds and ends have been painted red. The front seats are out of a later ('85-on) car. He added a few Porsche crest badges. Different speakes and radio, different shift knob, etc.

Seems to me that a previous owner just wanted to personalize his car a bit. It happens all the time.

Good luck with the sale,
JR

The painting on the fan, band/clamp, housing, and radio are my doing. I didn't realize the seats weren't stock. Thanks for the info

I am pretty surprised at how well the color of the steering wheel matches everything else. I had this car at the Porsche dealership here...and didn't get any indication that the wheel was anything other than stock. The dealer even commented that he could renew it to look like new.
