Seat Switch Repair.......IT WORKS

After having installed the 911chips in the BIG MO. I had taken the seat out and decided to trouble shoot.

I 1st tried to using a large flat blade screw driver to twist the gear units on each corner.......NO GO. Gear reduction in the motor is to hard to overcome.

I removed the c clips from the drive shafts and freely spun the transmissions and the motors. SOOOOOOO I cleaned the area and pulled the 4 way switch out..not all the way just enough to have access.

After this I broke out my bat charger put it on 12v 2 amp setting and unplugged the motors touched the contacts and VIOLA! motors work with direct current

A month ago I pulled the switch apart while it was still in the seat still in the car. I used vaseline to hold the ball bearings in place while i put it back to gether yet still no joy.

This time was different. I seperated the switch from the housing and opened it up again.
I used MAF cleaners to spray out the gunk and it made it very nice and shiney. I used a long needle nose plier to bend the tabs that hold the 4 rockers in place
and removed them. suddenly it was apparent as to why the switch didnt work.

Lots of carbon fouling for such a small switch. I borrowed a new pencil with fresh eraser. I twisted the eraser on top of the contact points and it removed the the black carbon fairly quickly.. NOTE: it takes some work but it does come off. I then used the pencil eraser to remove the burned spots on the rocker contacts. When your done the contacts they will look very shiney.

I reinstalled in the reverse order put the seat in the car plugged her in and VIOLA we have a fix............Good as new I guess.......

Works real good.
