Question Fuel filling solutions-no fuel flap in fender

Another question I need help with.

For my RSR project I replaced the fenders with non-fuel flap type. That leaves me with the need to have temporary solution in place to be able to move the car around in a secured/safe method.

I will post photos to make things a bit more clear...

What alternatives you guys suggest??

I can't seem to be able to just rotate the current fuel filler neck to the inside. I thought about getting some pipes and elbows but the fuel filler neck has an additional overflow/vent line that I am not sure how to replicate or if it would be safe to elminate it???

So... without having to weld the tank, without removing and replacing with a fuel cell... How can I use the current setup with a few changes to still have a safe setup?

Any other fuel filler neck from another year that would do the trick? If I can find a 90 degree type fuel filler neck it could be routed straight up under the hood....

Hope I explained the situation well enough to get help on it.

Thanks!

Just posting here what I find from my searches...

Need to vent, my gas tank

Still looking for alternatives/suggestions

I want to keep the stock setup (hoses, canister, vent hose, etc...) to keep it all as close as factory as possible to avoid nasty surprises with fire or imploding tank...

Can you cap off the main fuel filler neck and add fuel where the sender attaches to the top of the tank? If you can live with a less than full tank, I would think that this would work.

Can't you just shorten the existing metal neck so that the cap is inside the trunk? I would keep the overflow just as it is, just modified for the new location. The higher, the better.

I will look at it again... but the way the filler neck curves and the position of the overflow pipe is does not really allow for much cutting that will allow it to be reposition to work...

I will post photos shortly...

If I can find some flexible hose that can stand gasoline I might be able to move it around...

Great! We have a couple of those here in Florida Thank you!

Here are a few photos. I tried again last night to position it with no success...

Will get a flexible hose and will post photos of the final setup.
