Hot dog, they must be crazy...

http://www.fantasyjunction.com/used-cars.php?id=a8b2b7fbb890e5688187d882471db121

Non-original color, non-matching engine, and quote "is best described as an extremely strong and very original 'driver'".

And they want $200K for it? Pure insanity - they made 1580 of these cars...

http://www.fantasyjunction.com/used-cars.php?id=a8b2b7fbb890e5688187d882471db121

And, it's been converted to "lightweight look" from a touring model - hardly what I would describe as "original". It's not even close to an original 500 count car...

Yup, I guess you can "ask" anything you want.. I was looking through an old Excellence magazine the other day and saw a 73RS advertised as totally original and mint for $80,000..... That was about 8 years ago however.

And that was high. I turned down a few at $40K.

I'm not sure this is a valid comment or not, but if spent 200k on a vehicle I would want it in its original color and probably original paint.

Going from tangerine to white? Crazy???

"This unmolested RS should appeal to enthusiasts who prefer unrestored cars that run perfectly, to a mechanically tired example with a cosmetic restoration."

Unmolested? They have an odd definition of it, keep these folks away from your kids and pets....

Looks like it was bid to $110K and not sold on Ebay last year.

About three or 4 years ago I did a worldwide search for a '73 RS for a friend who wanted one, (this was before the dollar became worthless, maybe '03), I passed-up better cars than this for ~$50k. Obviously my friend f'ed-up big-time not jumping on one then. The selection was a lot better then, along with the prices.

These cars have crossed over to being ming vases or rare coins instead of driven sports cars, it's a shame. They are nothing but driver cars, not exotic in the least, but truly great cars.

Why would I want an unmolested over priced RS when I can build a better clone (that runs better) for less than 40K?

Somebody who doesn't have a big enough dick and too much money will buy it.....

Definitely a valid comment. For a color change/non-matching but correct '73 911/83 motor the car is certainly over-priced at that level. Probably more like $150K range IMHO.

This is the car that was well discussed here a long time ago. The last seller represented it as all original and even insulted the experts on the board here when they told him the color had been changed and the motor swaped. He was very aggresive in his insults even when proven wrong. I think he sold it in the mid 100's.

Maybe I don't understand the meaning of the term "Unrestored".

It says...
"Original, Unrestored, Genuine RS"

and a bit later it says...
"The car has seen a recent, high quality repaint in white. The original color combination was paint code "2323" which is Tangerine. The car currently wears paint code "2225", Grand Prix White with Red scripts. Paint code "2225" is an original Porsche RS color combination."

I think a little bit of education might be in order.

Teo's clone would be a better buy than this car, I would think.
