Is this a wastegate dump pipe or a muffler bypass?

This came with a bunch of other parts... I was told it was a 930 muffler bypass, but someone asked if it could be a wastegate dump pipe. The OD is about 9.5" and the holes in the flange are about 2.75" apart. Opinions? Just want to make sure I know what it is.

looks like a muffler bypass . . .wastegate dump pipes are smaller.

geeeze, thats got to be loud.

+1 on muffler bypass.

Island,

Probably not as loud as you'd think. Turbos do a great job of converting all that pulse energy into useful work. On a NA car though, that thing would be MURDER.

:) yeah, I was going to add 'even w/ a turbo damping.' --just didn't. But, agree, on a NA car though, that thing would be really nasty. . . and not in a good way.

2 votes for muffler bypass... On the "for sale" board, I've got two votes for dump pipe.

Do you mean "Outside circumference"?

A 9.5" circumference works out to a 3" diameter.
If it was diameter you would be able to put your head in it. :)

Why yes... that's exactly what I mean! :D Circumference is about 9.5"

Otherwise it might make the car look a bit like this...
